can you play gamecube games on the wii ?
i got a few games for my gamecube but i’m just wondering will it recognize the game or would you just stick with the wii game cd’s cause i put in a game i rented from the store and saw there was another cd what does that mean just curious cause it looked like a game cube cd
Yes. Just insert the disc like you would any Wii game, press “Start” on the Disc Channel and the game will play as if it was a Gamecube.
However, you need a Gamecube Controller to play. You can’t use the Wii Remote, and you CANNOT use the Classic Controller, like someone before me said. Gamecube games can be played only with the Gamecube controller.
You’ll also need a Gamecube Memory Card to save your data.
Slots for both of these items can be found under flaps on top of the Wii, as seen here:
